Records of the United States General Accounting Office [microform] Miscellaneous Treasury accounts.

Includes records of library materials purchased by first territorial Gov. Isaac Stevens before his departure from the east coast for Washington Territory. As Gov. Stevens came overland, the library journeyed by ship and arrived in Olympia, W.T. in Oct. 1853-- a month before the Governor. This collection formed the nucleus for the Washington State Library. Pt. 2 of the reel has financial accounts relating to early census efforts.
